Saddle Hire Terms & Conditions

1. Insurance Requirement

The Customer must ensure that the saddle is insured for its full resale value as stated above for the entire duration of the hire period. Proof of insurance must be provided to The Fitted Horse before the saddle is released. The Customer is liable for any loss, theft, or damage to the saddle whilst in their possession.

2. Care and Maintenance

The Customer agrees to:

   • Keep the saddle clean and well-maintained using appropriate leather care products

   • Store the saddle in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures

   • Use appropriate saddle pads/numnahs to protect the saddle panels

   • Not make any modifications or alterations to the saddle

   • Ensure the saddle is used only on horses for which it has been professionally fitted

3. Condition on Return

The saddle must be returned in the same condition as received, allowing for fair wear and tear. The Customer will be charged for any damage beyond normal wear and tear, including but not limited to scratches, tears, broken fittings, or damage to panels or tree. The saddle must be clean upon return.

4. Payment Terms

Hire charges are payable weekly in advance. The first week's hire charge is due before collection of the saddle. Late payments may result in termination of the hire agreement and immediate return of the saddle being required.

5. Loss or Theft

In the event of loss or theft, the Customer must notify The Fitted Horse immediately and provide a crime reference number. The Customer remains liable for the full resale value of the saddle until the insurance claim is settled.

6. Termination of Hire

Either party may terminate this agreement with 7 days' notice. Upon termination, the saddle must be returned immediately in accordance with the conditions set out above. Any outstanding hire charges remain payable.

7. Right to Inspect

The Fitted Horse reserves the right to inspect the saddle during the hire period to ensure it is being properly cared for and maintained.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Fitted Horse accepts no liability for any injury to horse or rider arising from the use of the hired saddle. The Customer uses the saddle at their own risk.
