At The Fitted Horse, we stock only high-quality equipment from reputable manufacturers. All products sold come with appropriate warranties and guarantees to protect your investment and ensure your satisfaction.

 

This document outlines the warranty coverage for products purchased from The Fitted Horse, including manufacturer warranties and our own guarantees for pre-loved stock.

 

Manufacturer Warranties

 

All new equipment sold by The Fitted Horse is covered by the manufacturer's warranty as detailed below. Warranties cover manufacturing defects and faulty materials but do not cover damage from misuse, normal wear and tear, or accidents.

 

WOW Saddles (First Thought Equine)

Warranty Period: 2 years from date of purchase

Coverage:

  • Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship
  • Panel integrity and construction
  • Stirrup bar function and safety
  • Girth strap integrity

Exclusions:

  • Normal wear and tear (leather wear, panel compression over time)
  • Damage from improper care, storage, or cleaning
  • Damage from accidents, misuse, or abuse
  • Modifications made by anyone other than authorized WOW fitters
  • Leather stretching or colour changes (natural characteristics)

Claims Process:

  • Contact The Fitted Horse with photos and description of defect
  • We will liaise with First Thought Equine on your behalf
  • Saddle may need to be returned for inspection
  • Repairs or replacement provided at manufacturer's discretion

Additional Notes:

  • WOW Saddles are designed to mold to your horse over time—this is normal function, not a defect
  • Annual saddle checks are recommended to ensure continued proper fit
  • Warranty is non-transferable and applies to original purchaser only

 

Acavallo

Warranty Period: 1 year from date of purchase (some products may have extended warranty)

Coverage:

  • Manufacturing defects in gel products, saddle pads, and accessories
  • Material failures and construction defects
  • Functional failures of products used as intended

Exclusions:

  • Damage from improper use or care
  • Wear from normal use (gel compression, fabric wear)
  • Damage from washing inappropriately or using harsh chemicals
  • Cuts, tears, or punctures from external causes
  • Colour fading from sun exposure or washing

Claims Process:

  • Contact The Fitted Horse with photos and proof of purchase
  • We will assess and coordinate with Acavallo UK distributor
  • Defective items may need to be returned
  • Replacement or repair at manufacturer's discretion

 

Lumiere Equestrian

Warranty Period: 6 months to 1 year depending on product (confirmation at point of sale)

Coverage:

  • Manufacturing defects in materials and construction
  • Stitching failures and material separations
  • Hardware failures (buckles, clips, fastenings)

Exclusions:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage from improper care or cleaning
  • Misuse or accidents
  • Modifications or alterations

Claims Process:

  • We will coordinate with Lumiere Equestrian
  • Return may be required for assessment
  • Resolution at manufacturer's discretion

 

Fager Bits

Warranty Period: 1 year from date of purchase

Coverage:

  • Manufacturing defects in materials
  • Joint or connection failures due to defective construction
  • Material breakdown under normal use

Exclusions:

  • Normal wear from use (smoothing of edges, slight oxidation of metals)
  • Damage from harsh cleaning methods or chemicals
  • Bending or deformation from misuse or accidents
  • Tooth marks or damage from horse chewing
  • Lost or damaged parts (e.g., loose ring guards, curb chains)

Claims Process:

  • Contact The Fitted Horse with photos showing defect
  • We will assess and liaise with Fager representative
  • Bit may need to be returned for inspection
  • Replacement or repair provided if defect confirmed

Additional Notes:

  • Some oxidation on copper or sweet iron components is normal and beneficial—this is not a defect
  • Bits should be inspected regularly for safety and replaced when showing excessive wear

 

Bombers Bits

Warranty Period: 1 year from date of purchase some products have limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects (confirmation at point of sale)

Coverage:

  • Manufacturing defects in materials and construction
  • Joint or link failures due to faulty manufacturing
  • Material defects affecting safety or function

Exclusions:

  • Normal oxidation of Blue Sweet Iron (this is intentional and beneficial)
  • Wear from regular use (thinning, smoothing)
  • Damage from improper cleaning or harsh chemicals
  • Damage from horse chewing or biting
  • Deformation from accidents or misuse

Claims Process:

  • Contact The Fitted Horse with photos and description
  • We will evaluate and contact Bombers if manufacturing defect suspected
  • Bit may need to be returned for manufacturer inspection
  • Replacement provided for confirmed manufacturing defects

Important Note:

  • The blue coating on Bombers Blue Sweet Iron bits is designed to wear over time, revealing the sweet iron underneath which oxidizes to orange-brown. This is NORMAL FUNCTION, not a defect
  • Regular inspection for safety-related wear is customer's responsibility

 

Premier Equine

Warranty Period: 1 year from date of purchase (some products may vary)

Coverage:

  • Manufacturing defects in rugs, boots, saddle pads, and accessories
  • Material failures and construction defects
  • Faulty stitching, fastenings, or components

Exclusions:

  • Wear and tear from normal use
  • Damage from washing incorrectly or using unsuitable products
  • Tears, rips, or damage from external causes
  • Damage from horses chewing, rubbing, or destroying products
  • Velcro wear from normal use
  • Colour fading or waterproofing degradation over time

Claims Process:

  • Contact The Fitted Horse with photos and proof of purchase
  • We will assess and coordinate with Premier Equine
  • Items may need to be returned for inspection
  • Resolution according to manufacturer's assessment

 

Correct Connect

Warranty Period: 1 year from date of purchase

Coverage:

  • Manufacturing defects in bridle and tack accessories
  • Material and construction failures
  • Hardware failures (buckles, clips, rings)

Exclusions:

  • Normal wear from use (leather stretching, stitching wear)
  • Damage from improper care or cleaning
  • Modifications or alterations
  • Accidental damage

  • Items may need to be returned

Aster Bits

Warranty Period: 1 year from date of purchase

Coverage:

  • Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship
  • Joint or connection failures from defective construction
  • Material defects affecting safety

Exclusions:

  • Normal wear and oxidation (especially sweet iron and copper)
  • Damage from improper care or harsh cleaning
  • Tooth marks or chewing damage
  • Accidental damage or misuse

  • Bit may require return for inspection
  • Replacement for confirmed manufacturing defects

 

Winderen

Warranty Period: 1 year from date of purchase

Coverage:

  • Manufacturing defects in materials and construction
  • Gel and padding failures from defective materials
  • Structural failures in saddle pads and protective equipment

Exclusions:

  • Normal compression and wear of gel/padding materials
  • Damage from improper washing or care
  • Tears or damage from external causes
  • Colour fading or cosmetic wear

  • We will coordinate with Winderen distributor
  • Return may be required for assessment
  • Resolution based on manufacturer evaluation

 

Myler Bits

Warranty Period: Limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects

Coverage:

  • Manufacturing defects in materials
  • Structural failures in mouthpiece or shanks
  • Joint or connection failures from faulty construction

Exclusions:

  • Normal wear from use
  • Damage from abuse, misuse, or accidents
  • Modifications or alterations
  • Cosmetic wear or finish changes
  • Damage from improper cleaning

Claims Process:

  • Contact The Fitted Horse with photos and description
  • We will coordinate with Myler UK distributor (if applicable) or manufacturer
  • Bit must be returned for inspection
  • Replacement or repair provided for confirmed manufacturing defects

Additional Notes:

  • Myler's limited lifetime warranty is one of the industry's best
  • Applies only to original purchaser
  • Does not cover normal wear requiring eventual replacement

What is Covered

  • Manufacturing defects present at time of manufacture
  • Faulty materials that fail under normal use
  • Construction defects affecting safety or function
  • Component failures due to manufacturing faults

 

What is NOT Covered

  • Normal wear and tear from regular use
  • Damage from misuse, abuse, or accidents
  • Improper care, cleaning, or storage
  • Modifications or repairs by unauthorized persons
  • Natural material characteristics (leather stretching, colour variation, metal oxidation where intended)
  • Damage from animals (chewing, rubbing, destruction)
  • Loss or theft

Timeline

 

Most warranty claims are resolved within 14-28 days, depending on manufacturer response times and whether items need to be returned for inspection.

 

The Fitted Horse Guarantee - Pre-Loved Stock

 

In addition to manufacturer warranties on new products, The Fitted Horse offers our own guarantee on carefully selected pre-loved equipment.

 

6-Month Guarantee on Pre-Loved Stock

 

Coverage Period: 6 months from date of purchase (unless otherwise stated at point of sale)

 

What's Covered: 

  • Structural failures: Breakage or failure of components that were not visible at point of sale
  • Hidden defects: Defects that were not apparent during our inspection and assessment
  • Safety issues: Any safety-related failures that develop within the guarantee period
  • Functionality problems: Equipment failing to function as described at point of sale

 

What's NOT Covered: 

  • Wear and tear from your use after purchase
  • Damage from misuse, accidents, or improper care
  • Issues disclosed at point of sale (e.g., "minor cosmetic wear," "previously repaired")
  • Normal progression of existing wear
  • Changes in your horse's shape or size making equipment no longer suitable
  • Buyer's remorse or change of mind (see Returns Policy)

 

Our Pre-Loved Assessment Process

 

All pre-loved stock sold by The Fitted Horse undergoes:

  • Thorough inspection for safety, function, and condition
  • Professional cleaning and servicing where appropriate
  • Honest disclosure of any wear, repairs, or limitations
  • Fair pricing reflecting condition and remaining useful life
  • Expert guidance on suitability for your needs

 

Condition Grading

 

Pre-loved items are graded and described honestly:

 

Excellent/As New: Minimal use, no significant wear, like new condition
Very Good: Light use, minor cosmetic wear, full functionality
Good: Moderate use, some visible wear, fully functional and safe
Fair: Significant wear, cosmetic issues, functional but may have limitations

 

All significant wear, repairs, or limitations are disclosed at point of sale.

 

Making a Guarantee Claim - Pre-Loved Stock

 

Step 1: Contact Us Immediately

Step 2: Assessment

  • We will evaluate whether the issue is covered by the guarantee
  • We may request the item be returned for inspection

Step 3: Resolution If the issue is covered, we will offer:

  • Full refund if item is not fit for purpose
  • Partial refund if issue reduces value but item remains usable
  • Replacement with comparable pre-loved item (if available)
  • Repair at our expense if appropriate and possible

 

 

 

Timeline

 

Pre-loved guarantee claims are typically resolved within 7-14 days.

Shorter or Longer Guarantee Periods

 

Some pre-loved items may have

 

Extended guarantee: High-quality items in excellent condition may come with 12-month guarantee (confirmed at point of sale)

Shorter guarantee: Items with disclosed wear or limitations may have reduced guarantee periods (e.g., 3 months, 30 days, or sold "as seen")

No guarantee: Items sold explicitly "as seen" or for parts/repair have no guarantee beyond statutory rights

 

All guarantee terms are confirmed in writing at point of sale.

 

Your Statutory Rights

 

These warranties and guarantees are in addition to your statutory consumer rights under UK law, including:

 

Consumer Rights Act 2015: Products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described

Right to reject: Faulty goods can be rejected for full refund within 30 days

Right to repair or replacement: For faults developing within 6 months (new goods) or guarantee period (pre-loved)

Right to price reduction or refund: If repair/replacement fails or is impossible

 

These statutory rights are not affected by manufacturer warranties or our pre-loved guarantee.

Warranties and guarantees may be invalidated if products are not properly cared for.

 

General Care Requirements:

 

Leather products:

  • Clean regularly with appropriate leather cleaner
  • Condition with suitable leather conditioner
  • Avoid harsh chemicals, excessive water, or extreme temperatures
  • Store in cool, dry conditions away from direct sunlight

Bits and metal components:

  • Rinse after each use to remove saliva and debris
  • Clean weekly with mild soap and water
  • Dry thoroughly after cleaning
  • Store in dry conditions
  • Inspect regularly for wear or damage

Gel and synthetic products:

  • Follow manufacturer washing instructions
  • Avoid harsh detergents or excessive heat
  • Air dry away from direct heat sources
  • Store flat or as recommended

Saddles and saddle pads:

  • Keep clean and dry
  • Use appropriate cleaning products for materials
  • Store on saddle rack in ventilated area
  • Have saddles professionally checked annually

 

Failure to maintain equipment properly may void warranty coverage.

 

Returns Policy (Non-Warranty Returns)

  • New, unused products: May be returned within 14 days for refund (subject to conditions)
  • Used products: Generally cannot be returned unless faulty
  • Custom-ordered or fitted products: Cannot be returned unless faulty
  • Pre-loved stock: Returns accepted within 7 days if not as described
