The Fitted Horse offers gift vouchers that can be used toward:
- Bridle and bit fitting consultations
- Equipment purchases (new stock)
- Pre-loved equipment purchases
- Trial equipment hire
- Event and clinic attendance (subject to availability)
Gift vouchers make excellent presents for horse owners and are a flexible way to give the gift of professional fitting services or quality equipment.
These terms and conditions govern the purchase and use of all The Fitted Horse gift vouchers.
Purchasing Gift Vouchers
How to Purchase
Gift vouchers can be purchased:
- In person at appointments or events

- Online (if/when online purchasing available)
Voucher Values
Gift vouchers are available in:
Fixed Denominations:
- £25
- £50
- £75
- £100
- £150
Custom Amounts:
- Any amount £10 or above can be requested
- Minimum voucher value: £10
- No maximum voucher value

Charged at the cost of the service and available within 20 miles of Northampton

Payment
Payment must be made in full at time of purchase.
Payment methods accepted:
- Bank transfer
- Credit or debit card
- Cash (in person only)
Vouchers are issued only after payment has cleared.
Voucher Format
Physical Vouchers:
- Beautifully presented voucher card
- Includes unique voucher code
- Includes value and expiry date
- Can be posted to purchaser or recipient (specify at purchase)
- Delivery via Royal Mail (allow 3-5 working days)
- Can be collected in person by arrangement
Digital Vouchers:
- Emailed as PDF attachment
- Includes unique voucher code
- Includes value and expiry date
- Can be printed by recipient or shown on phone
- Sent within 24 hours of payment clearing (usually same day)
- Can be forwarded to recipient or sent directly to them
Personalisation
Vouchers can include:
- Recipient's name
- Personal message (up to 50 words)
- Occasion (Birthday, Christmas, Thank You, etc.)
- "From" information
Specify personalisation details at time of purchase.
Voucher Validity and Expiry
Validity Period
Standard gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase.
Expiry date is clearly printed on the voucher.
Example: Voucher purchased 1st February 2025 expires 1st February 2026.
Expiry and Extensions
After Expiry Date:
- Vouchers cannot be redeemed after expiry date
- No refund or replacement issued for expired vouchers
- No extensions granted as standard
Extension Requests:
Extensions may be considered only in exceptional circumstances:
- Serious illness of voucher holder
- Family bereavement
- Other genuine exceptional circumstances

- Maximum extension: 3 months
Extensions are exceptional and not guaranteed.
Checking Expiry Date
Recipients should check expiry date upon receipt and plan to use voucher in good time
We recommend booking appointments at least 6 weeks before expiry to ensure availability.
Redeeming Gift Vouchers
What Vouchers Can Be Used For
Gift vouchers can be redeemed against:

- New equipment and products
- Pre-loved stock
- Trial equipment hire deposits
- Custom orders (voucher applied to deposit or final payment)
✅ Related Services:
- Any service or product offered by The Fitted Horse
Vouchers CANNOT be exchanged for cash.
How to Redeem
When Booking Consultation:
- Contact us to book appointment (phone, email, or in person)
- Inform us you have a gift voucher
- Provide unique voucher code
- We will verify validity and balance
- Appointment confirmed
When Purchasing Equipment:
- Select items to purchase
- Inform us at payment that you're using a gift voucher
- Provide unique voucher code
- We will verify validity and balance
- Voucher value deducted from total
Voucher code must be provided at time of booking or purchase, not after the fact.
Partial Redemption
If purchase/service value is LESS than voucher value:
- Remaining balance stays on voucher
- Can be used for future purchases/services
- Subject to original expiry date
- Balance can be checked by contacting us with voucher code
Example:
- Voucher value: £100
- Consultation cost: £75
- Remaining balance: £25 (available until expiry date)
If purchase/service value is MORE than voucher value:
- Voucher value deducted from total
- Remaining balance paid by recipient using standard payment methods
- Full payment required before goods dispatched or service provided
Example:
- Voucher value: £50
- Equipment cost: £85
- Balance to pay: £35
Multiple Vouchers
Multiple vouchers can be used together for a single purchase or service, subject to:
- All vouchers must be valid (within expiry date)
- All voucher codes provided at time of purchase/booking
- No limit on number of vouchers that can be combined

Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Vouchers
Lost or Stolen Vouchers
Gift vouchers are treated like cash.
If a voucher is lost or stolen:
- We may be able to verify purchase and issue replacement if we can locate the original purchase record
- Replacement subject to proof of purchase (receipt or purchase confirmation email)
- Replacement voucher will have same expiry date as original
- Replacement is at our discretion and not guaranteed
To request replacement:
- Contact us as soon as possible
- Provide purchase details (date, amount, purchaser name, payment method)
- Confirm voucher has not been used
- We will check our records and advise if replacement possible
If voucher has already been redeemed, no replacement will be issued.
We recommend:
- Keeping voucher safe like cash
- Taking photo of voucher code for backup
- Redeeming promptly to avoid loss
Damaged Vouchers
If voucher is damaged but code is still readable:
- Voucher remains valid
- Can be redeemed as normal
If voucher code is unreadable:
- Contact us with any remaining visible information
- We will attempt to locate in our records
- Replacement may be possible if we can verify original purchase
Refunds and Exchanges
Non-Refundable
Gift vouchers are NON-REFUNDABLE once purchased.
This applies whether:
- Purchased for yourself or as a gift
- Recipient doesn't want it
- Circumstances change
- Voucher not used before expiry
This is a firm policy with no exceptions.
Non-Transferable for Cash
Gift vouchers cannot be:
- Exchanged for cash
- Refunded for cash (even partially)
- Used to purchase other gift vouchers
Vouchers can ONLY be redeemed for services and products offered by The Fitted Horse.
Non-Exchangeable
Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for:
- Different value vouchers
- Cash or credit
- Vouchers for different businesses
Vouchers purchased are final.
Exceptional Circumstances
In very exceptional circumstances (business closure, service no longer available, etc.), we reserve the right to offer refunds at our sole discretion.
This does not create any obligation or expectation of refunds in normal circumstances.
Using Vouchers as Payment for Goods
Goods Payment
Gift vouchers can be used as:
- Full payment for goods (if voucher value equals or exceeds goods value)
- Part payment for goods (with balance paid via standard payment methods)
Pre-Loved Stock
Vouchers can be used for pre-loved equipment purchases:
- Same terms apply as new goods
- Subject to availability
- No refund if item subsequently found unsuitable (see Returns Policy)
- Pre-loved stock guarantee still applies (6 months unless stated otherwise)
Custom Orders
Vouchers can be used for custom/made-to-order items:
- Can be applied to deposit or final payment
- Once custom order placed, voucher value is committed
- Custom orders are non-refundable (see Returns Policy)
- Voucher cannot be reclaimed if custom order cancelled by customer
Trial Equipment
Vouchers can be used for:
- Trial equipment hire deposits
- Purchase of trialled equipment after successful trial
- Cannot be used to offset costs if trial equipment damaged/lost
Restrictions and Limitations
Cannot Be Used For
Gift vouchers CANNOT be used for:
- Purchasing additional gift vouchers
- Exchanging for cash
- Retrospective discounts (cannot be applied after payment made)
- Paying overdue invoices or debts
Not Valid With Other Offers
Unless specifically stated otherwise:
- Gift vouchers cannot be combined with other promotional offers or discounts
- Standard pricing applies when redeeming vouchers
- Event discounts or special offers may exclude voucher use (will be clearly stated)
Business Discretion
We reserve the right to:
- Refuse voucher redemption if we believe voucher obtained fraudulently
- Refuse voucher redemption if terms violated
- Request proof of purchase if suspicious activity
- Limit how vouchers can be used for specific events or limited-availability services
Recipient Rights and Responsibilities

The voucher recipient is responsible for:
- Checking expiry date upon receipt
- Keeping voucher safe (treated like cash)
- Booking appointments in good time before expiry
- Providing voucher code at time of booking/purchase
- Understanding and accepting these terms and conditions
Service Standards
Voucher recipients receive:
- Identical service quality as paying customers
- Same professional standards
- Same policies (Health & Safety, Welfare, Returns, etc.)
- No difference in treatment or priority
Gift vouchers do not create second-class service.
Booking and Availability
- Vouchers guarantee payment, not availability
- Appointments subject to our normal booking system
- Popular times may have waiting lists
- Book early to ensure appointment before expiry
- We cannot guarantee specific dates/times
- Expiry date will not be extended due to lack of availability if recipient books late
Recommendation: Book at least 6 weeks before expiry date.
Purchaser (Gift Giver) Information
Purchaser Responsibilities
When purchasing a gift voucher, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring recipient will benefit from services offered
- Informing recipient of expiry date
- Delivering voucher to recipient (physical vouchers)
- Understanding vouchers are non-refundable
Delivery
Physical Vouchers:
- Posted to address provided
- Posted via Royal Mail (standard 2nd class unless upgraded)
- Allow 3-5 working days for delivery
- We are not responsible for Royal Mail delays
- Tracked/signed delivery available on request (additional charge)
Digital Vouchers:
- Emailed to address provided within 24 hours
- Check spam/junk folders if not received
- Contact us if not received within 48 hours
- Can be sent directly to recipient or to purchaser to forward
Recipient Contact
If you provide recipient's contact details for direct delivery:
- We will contact recipient only regarding voucher delivery
- Recipient details will not be used for marketing without separate consent
